National Conference on e-Governance
E-Governance presents challenges and opportunities to transform both the mechanics of government, and the nature of governance itself. The big challenges are not technological but cultural.The National Conference on e-Governance is one of the endeavor of the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances to fulfill its duty assigned under Allocation of Business Rules, 1961 to promote E-Governance activities in consonance with the overall national objectivities and priorities. Keeping in view the above mentioned objective, the Department organizes the National Conference on e-Governance every year in collaboration with Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India and one of the State Governments. Thirteen such Conferences have been organized so far.

The National Conference on e-Governance has been providing a platform of meaningful interaction to policy makers, practitioners, industry leaders and academicians to deliberate, interact and recommend an actionable strategy for good governance and to improve the standard of services rendered to the common man.
Over the years, the National Conferences on e-Governance has emerged as an effective forum in which the IT Managers of the Central & State Governments, Software solution providers, Industries think tanks etc. participate & interact, exchange opinions & views, discuss issues & problems and also analyze various solution frameworks and necessary action plan for firming up the road map for e-Governance. These Conferences have proved to be very useful in creating awareness in service providers dealing with IT and have helped as a useful forum in which new initiatives of various States and Central Government in IT are explored.
This Department has also instituted National Awards for e-Governance to promote and recognize exemplary implementation of e-Governance initiatives in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of Government. These awards (Gold, Silver and Bronze in each category) are presented to the winning organizations every year during the inaugural session of the National Conference on e-Governance.
