5. Bishnupur is one of the important tourist destination with Keibul Lamjao National Park (located
in Loktak Lake), the largest floating national park in the world. The industry is still in nascent
stage though with full of potential.

Strategy adopted to promote Digital Payment in Bishnupur District and Innovations adopted in
implementation:
Since December 2016, the Bishnupur District Administration is making several efforts to reduce the use
of cash in the economy by promoting the digital payments. The main aim for promotion of the digital
payment is to bring less cash society, digital economy and corruption-free India.

1. The district administration claims that the awareness for promotion of digital payments has
covered the remotest part of the district

2. The awareness was spread not only through mass awareness programme but also by handholding
through door-to-door campaign and imparting training.
