Situation before the Initiative

Lab reports are essential at every step of life- from womb to tomb- when one is healthy, at risk and sick.
However, it is not that easy to understand them without domain knowledge. Familiarizing with domain
knowledge for a common man is quite tough due to medical jargon. With only 10% of the Indians, who
can read and write, and 3% among them can understand more technical ones- almost 97% of the labs
remain poorly understood.

Challenges faced-

    1. Existing solutions, of which there are a few, have generally focused on lay man explanation of
the report in an digital format and displaying them in a graphic format with no specific reference
points for a specific screening test. Such systems and method focus on only one aspect of the
patient health status at a given time thereby reducing the overall value of the medical advice.

    2. There is associated risk of self-medication – in case you give a possible diagnosis and one should
stop by enumerating the signs and symptoms

    3. The doctors in rural and medical college settings are overburdened to dispose and have little time
to explain the patient what it means to them- and there is a chance of missing the interplay if there
are too many reports spanning over a period of time

    4. The administrators do not have access to interpretable data on which they can act

Therefore, there is an immense need to have a solution that can address all the above

Innovation-

We developed a system for generating real-time cumulative personalized health screening report
as described herein which is personalized and interactive with comparison with the
previous/earlier results of the self and/or with the matched population.

It provides more specific reporting pattern taking into account of interplay at the “cellular/tissue
and organ level”, wherein a change in one laboratory parameter effects the remaining and thus
helping to understand this interplay, by using a rule based system that upgrades itself on feed
back mechanism and facilitates the individual to understand the same and seek timely
intervention by improving awareness of the actual health condition.
