Strategy Adopted

An IT Task Force was set up under the Chairmanship of Minister (RTH&S) to carry out simplification
of procedures by leveraging the use of Information Technology in the Ministry of Road, Transport,
Highways & Shipping. Having made the study of the state of IT adoption levels, the Task Force
suggested measures to reform & modernize the entire system for higher transparency, efficiency &
accountability in different verticals/domains of Infrastructure Industry. The Task Force worked on
improving information sharing through establishment of Digital Infrastructure tools like a platform for
Infrastructure and Material Providers. Later on, this concept took the shape as INAM-Pro+.
A proof of our thought process proving successful gets revealed from the fact that every single day
hundreds of infrastructure connected people are using the platform to conduct their market survey for
discovering best prices. Even if they don’t eventually place their orders online, they are still using the
portal as an information resource which has helped in stabilizing the price of various products. For
buyers all across the nation, this portal has become an unparalleled information compendium, a unique
of its kind where B deals with B with G acting as catalyst.

Business Process Engineering

The Time and Cost overruns occur in Infrastructure Projects for a host of reasons and the shortage and
the price escalation of materials have been the prominent ones. Lack of certainty about availability of
materials at optimum price often leads to improper planning and inaccurate scheduling of works, thereby
causing inordinate delays leading to time and cost overrun.
