to sanction the amount, despite a history of clean impeccable transactions he has had with the Bank for
many years. He opened his office reluctantly even though he was convinced that there was no need for
the bank to have insisted on those documents. He submitted all documents he was asked for but the
Bank was taking time in scrutinizing his papers as if he was a new customer to them and they had no
trust in him. Disgruntled, he shared his perception that this was the problem in our country where
genuine entrepreneurs like him were harassed and cheats were given crores of rupees just over telephone
calls. He was writing, he said, to PM to make him highlight how difficult it was for small businesses and
MSMEs to survive in the country. Bank of India had his complete history and knew his reputation, he
said, but his apprehension was that at the end he would be harassed by being repeatedly asked for
documents and papers and forced to open his office multiple times before being sanctioned the 20%
emergency Covid-19 amount. He had always been a law abiding citizen and will remain one, said Shri
Naresh Chetan. He requested the Government to come out with a plan to save all businesses and
MSMEs. He proposed that the Government should have a plan across the board to help all businesses
and MSMEs having an impeccable record with the Bank by increasing the Cash Credit limit 100% to be
repayable in 36 months, otherwise they will suffer and businessman will be forced to shut down
operations. That would kickstart the process of businesses hiring back employees and activating the
economy in a short time.

Action
The concerned Bank was directed to issue the emergency loan.

Minister for the help he got from the PMO by directing the Bank of India to resolve the Covid-19
emergency loan issue to resolve liquidity. “We are your silent warriors and will remain faithfully”, said
Shri Naresh Chetan, “Every step and move towards New India we are with you.”
